VINAY RAJKUMAR’S SECOND FILM TITLE UNVEILED
'R The King' is the title of Vinay Rajkumar’s second film. This was unveiled at the stroke of midnight at the Rajkumar Samadhi to mark thespian’s 86th birth anniversary.Speaking on the occasion, Shivarajkumar said Appaji’s 86th anniversary is special. He said he made his debut in 1986 and the family banner is producing its 86th film. He said Appaji was still with us. He said he was sure that Prem will make a good film and the film will be a hit.

APPAJI SOUHARDA AWARDS PRESENTED

irector K S L Swami, actor Srinath and playback singer Janaki were the recipients of Appaji Souharda Awards at a function held in Bengaluru on Thursday.The awards are given as a gesture of thanksgiving by the family members of Dr Rajkumar ahead of his birth anniversary celebrations which falls on Friday.Speaking on the occasion, K S L Swami said it is Rajkumar who taught the values of Souharda and bonding. He said he was ready to donate his eyes if his children allowed him to do so even as he recalled some shooting experience with Rajkumar.

BULLET BASIYA IN LAST LEG OF SONG SHOOT

ullet Basiya produced by Jayanna and Bhogendra has entered the last leg of song shoot. The shoot for a promotional song was being canned in Bengaluru with Sharan, Haripriya, Giri, Yathiraj and Siddi participating in it.The film crew led by its director Jayathirtha told reporters on Thursday said the promotional song will convey what the cinema is all about and that it is a song about Sharan. He said the film is a comedy and will cater to Sharan’s fans and his style of comedy.

AKSHATHE LAUNCHED

he film Akshathe had its muhurta on Thursday morning at the Freedom Park in Bengaluru. The film has generated enough media interest for two reasons. One, the movie is rumoured to be based on upright IAS officer D K Ravi’s life and career. Two, model-actress Mythriya who was in the eye of controversy that pertained to her personal life which was closely linked to politics has been signed to play the lead which has a similar name but a different person Karthik Shetty in the lead.

UDUMBA LAUNCHED

new Kannada film titled Udumba mounted the sets on Thursday at a temple. The meet met media persons to brief them about the film.The film, which is produced by Hanamantha Rao, is directed by Shiv Raj with Halesh handling the camera and Vineeth Raj scoring the music.Addressing journalists, debutant director Shiv Raj said Udumba is a film that dwells on the trials and tribulations of fisher folk living in the coastal districts.

SUDEEP’S RANNA ALL SET TO RELEASE IN MAY

he much-awaited film Ranna that stars Kichcha Sudeep in the lead is all set to hit theatres across Karnataka in May. The film that is helmed by Nanda Kishore and produced by Chandrashekar stars Rachita Ram, Haripriya, Madhubala among a huge ensemble cast of artistes.Ranna is a remake of Telugu hit Attarintiki Daredi that starred Pawan Kalyan in the lead. Ranna marks the return of Madhubala into Kannada cinema after a long gap.
